Little Devansh

Devansh... He is our nephew... My husband, Manish's elder brother's son... Devansh just turned 5 a few days back and I have to say he is the sweetest, smartest, wittiest kid we have ever known :) We both love him to death and eagerly wait to hear anything new that he did or said every single day and believe me his mom has something or the other new to tell us every single day as well... Each moment spent with the kid is like being part of his world the way he sees it... I just love to hear what he has to say about things...

One thing he is really good at is recognizing cars... He has been crazy about cars always and and from around the age of 2 or so he has been able to recognize cars no matter which make or model... How he manages to do so we have not been able to decipher yet but we all are amazed at it... He sees even a little bit of the car, maybe turning a corner, maybe just a glimpse, at times just the tailights or just the headlights and he has the name much before anyone of us... One day he says "Dont u think a Toyota Corolla always looks like it is smilling both from the front and the back???" ... Only when he said so I realized how true it is... Well, maybe it isn't but now everytime I see a Corolla I feel it really is smiling... :) His dad has a Tata Indigo... So his mom asked him what does an Indigo look like... He says "Indigo looks like it is angry from the front but happy from behind" ... When asked why he says, "From the front it is angry because it has so many cars in front of it that it wants to leave behind and so it is all angry and focussed on winning, and from behind it is happy because it can see all the cars that it has crossed and left behind ." :) I tell u... How does the little brain even think of all this...

Some time back devansh and me were playing carrom... I pocketed the queen.. He immediately says "Its a foul Chachi!!!" ... I said that I will give him the queen if he wants it, but he shouldn't lie...  he says "No!!! I am not lying. Foul means when u do something wrong, isn't it? Queen is a girl and so only a boy can take a queen. Since u r a girl u cannot. But u did, and its wrong, and so it is a foul!!!" :) What can u say to such talks... He was so happy when I kept the queen back and ofcourse he made me keep another coin from my lot,  for the 'Foul' :) And yes he did win that game :)

There are so so so many things I could write here about this little gem in our family... I guess my blog will see a lot of posts about him :) I just wish there was some way to not let him get any older...  let him be this cute little age always, when he has so much to wonder about, so much to explore, so much to say... as kids grow older all these funny, witty, cute anecdotes become a distant memory :) But then there would be so many more things this boy will go on to achieve for us all to be proud of...

Below is a pic of Devansh with Manish...

Love you Devu!!! :-*
